Articulation Officer

Under general direction of the University Registrar, the Articulation Officer leads institutional articulation and transfer credit equivalency processes for Westcliff University. This position coordinates the development, maintenance, and quality assurance of course equivalencies and formal articulation agreements; ensures compliance with accreditation and regulatory requirements; and provides analytical and technical support related to curriculum alignment and transfer policy implementation. The Articulation Officer functions as the institutional subject matter expert on transfer credit articulation and serves as the primary liaison between the Office of the Registrar, Academic Leadership, Admissions, and external partner institutions.

  • Develop, negotiate, and maintain formal articulation agreements and Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) with domestic and international institutions.
  • Review and assess institutional curriculum for articulation alignment and transfer applicability.
  • Establish and maintain official course equivalency tables within the Student Information System (SIS).
  • Ensure accuracy of articulated course mappings and update equivalencies as curriculum revisions occur.
  • Monitor changes in accreditation standards, federal/state regulations, and institutional policy affecting transfer credit and articulation.
  • Provide technical and analytical guidance to Academic Deans and Program Chairs regarding transferability and curriculum alignment.
  • Support catalog quality assurance by reviewing transfer policy language and curriculum data prior to publication.
  • Research external curriculum offerings and evaluate potential partnership opportunities.
  • Serve as the institutional liaison for transfer-related external communications.
  • Oversee and provide direction to Transfer Credit Specialists.
  • Maintain documentation and records necessary for audits, accreditation reviews, and compliance reporting.
  • Participate in professional conferences or training related to articulation, transfer policy, and higher education compliance, as approved.
Knowledge Of
  • Transfer credit evaluation principles and credit conversion methodologies.
  • Accreditation standards applicable to transfer practices (regional and programmatic).
  • Curriculum governance processes in higher education.
  • Regulatory compliance considerations related to academic record.
  • Student Information Systems and degree audit platforms.
Ability To
  • Interpret and apply institutional transfer and curriculum policies consistently.
  • Analyze detailed curriculum data and course content information.
  • Draft and review formal articulation agreements and related documentation.
  • Communicate complex policy information clearly and professionally.
  • Manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Exercise independent judgment within established institutional policy.
  • Establish and maintain effective professional relationships across departments and with external partners.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required;
    Master’s degree preferred.
  • Three to five years of progressively responsible experience in registrar operations, transfer credit evaluation, articulation, curriculum administration, or related higher education functions.
