The academic programs that the Sue & Bill Gross School of Nursing offers include a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Science, a Master of Science in Nursing Science (MEPN), a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Nursing Science.
Working under the direction of the Senior Assistant Dean and Senior Associate Dean, and in collaboration with academic and administrative leaders, the Director of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management serves in a key management role within the Sue & Bill Gross School of Nursing. This position serves as senior academic advisor for all academic programs and manages all student advising services, long‑range planning, and enrollment management, including admissions, recruitment, retention, and student success.
In collaboration with school leadership and faculty/staff directors of clinical and academic programs, the incumbent is responsible for establishing goals and policies to meet UC and UCI growth trends and targets, considering population demographics, legislative mandates, and UC systemwide requirements. The Director ensures compliance with California Board of Registered Nursing, UC systemwide, and UCI rules and regulations. Additionally, the incumbent oversees operations, financial, and human resources for the Student Affairs unit.
The Director designs, directs, and manages all aspects of undergraduate and graduate academic advising for the School of Nursing and formulates policies and procedures for the student academic advising program. Key responsibilities include analyzing and advising on academic programs and curricular changes; serving as primary leader for recruitment and retention planning; managing admissions and enrollment management goals, academic counseling, academic progress and conduct, policy development and enforcement, and student services;
overseeing student engagement and programming such as orientation, career fairs, commencement, Latin Honors, pinning ceremonies; coordinating articulation and student verifications; degree/credential/enrollment auditing, and reporting; contributing support for accreditation and academic program reviews and assessments; partnering in strategic planning and resource allocation; coordinating scholarships, student aid funding, and academic student employment in collaboration with finance, advancement, and academic personnel staff; and overseeing a broad range of student initiatives, engagement, and success.
The Director identifies and analyzes issues of significance to undergraduate and graduate education that have relevance to students, programs, faculty, and staff in the School of Nursing.
