ARK Academy is a non-profit STEAM-integrated private school serving early childhood and elementary students in Irvine, California. Slated to open in Fall 2026, ARK Academy’s mission is to foster God-conscious lifelong learners who strive for excellence in character, thought, and action. Our integrated curriculum and pedagogy are rooted in the teachings of the Qur’an, the Prophet (s), and his Household (as).

The Child Development & Admissions Specialist plays a key role in the admissions process by conducting whole-child, non-diagnostic observational assessments for prospective preschool and elementary students. Through observation, structured activities, and developmentally appropriate screening tools, the specialist evaluates each child’s readiness for ARK Academy’s academic and social environment while upholding compassion, fairness, and cultural sensitivity.
This role is part-time and seasonal, with hours scheduled during active admissions periods. This is an in-person position.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct whole-child, non-diagnostic observational assessments for prospective early childhood and elementary students during admissions visits.
- Use developmentally appropriate activities and tools to assess academic, social, and emotional readiness.
- Identify student strengths, support needs, and learning considerations with compassion, fairness, and cultural sensitivity.
- Prepare objective written assessment summaries for admissions review.
- Maintain confidentiality of all student records and observations.
- Collaborate with school leadership to support admissions and placement decisions.
- A Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, child development, psychology, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
- Experience working with diverse families and communities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- A passion for Islamic education.
- Demonstrate compassion, fairness, and cultural sensitivity; acknowledge knowledge gaps and consult experts as needed.
