Position Description

This role is a part‑time (20 hours/week) Academic Coordinator supporting graduate students in three MS programs:
Biological Sciences, Biotechnology, and Biotechnology Management. The coordinator serves as a communication hub and coordination facilitator for students in the three MS programs, bridging the School of Biological Sciences with the Paul Merage School of Business and other units across campus.

Key responsibilities:

  • Organize career development workshops, networking events, and an annual advisory board meeting.
  • Coordinate a peer mentor program by communicating with students and managing stipend payments.
  • Attend student recruitment events.
  • Maintain databases and websites.
  • Contribute to annual progress reports and program communications.

Qualifications:

  • BS or MS, with a focus in biological sciences or a related discipline preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills with diverse constituencies.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish cooperative working relationships and facilitate collaboration across departments.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage concurrent tasks and changing priorities.
  • Ability to work independently while coordinating with faculty, administrators, and students.
  • High proficiency in MS Office Suite and web‑based systems.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
