About the Position
Irvine Ranch Conservancy (IRC) has an opening for a full-time Communications Coordinator
. The Communications Coordinator will work independently yet closely with the Communications Manager to tell IRC's story in a variety of written, visual, and digital formats. On one day, the Coordinator may be participating in a land tour and taking photos; on another day, the tasks may be related to drafting a variety of written materials, such as newsletters, press releases, and social media content.
The Coordinator will work extensively with internal team members, as well as external partners and vendors.
The Successful Candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations/marketing, or similar field of study; three (3) years of experience in a related field; and the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Demonstrated experience working and communicating successfully with diverse groups.
- Proficient writing and editing skills with the ability to adapt tone and style for multiple audiences.
- Experience drafting newsletters, reports, press releases, and social media content.
- Basic photography skills and experience capturing images for communications use.
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and/or Canva for basic graphic design and layout.
- Experience using Microsoft Office 365, particularly working in the SharePoint environment.
- Experience with social media platforms and content management systems.
Salary Range: $31.25 to $33.66 per hour ($65,000 to $70,000 per year)

IRC's communications and marketing team plans and implements IRC's communications and marketing strategies. They are storytellers who create compelling messages to promote IRC and its partners. The team produces written and spoken communications, including newsletters, reports, social media, photographs, websites, videos, and more designed to engage the public, IRC staff, executives, elected officials, and others to protect and preserve the land.
