Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Construction Manager to oversee the deployment of telecommunications equipment and manage ASP (Authorized Service Provider) relationships for assigned jobs and venues. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in telecommunications construction, project management, and a strong technical background to ensure the efficient and timely delivery of projects.
Responsibilities- Site Assessment & Planning:
Conduct feasibility walks at venues with the data collection SP. Establish Points of Contact (POC) with venues for access and scheduling. Identify potential roadblocks and develop mitigation plans. Verify cable routing, GPS placement, and ingress/egress using iBwave software. - Project Scope & Execution:
Collaborate with RF design teams to develop and analyze the Statement of Work (SOW) and Bill of Materials (BOM). Ensure project requirements meet customer needs, ensuring proper sequencing of work and material management. Manage site access, construction schedules, and materials distribution. Report and address material deficiencies and collaborate on resolution strategies. - Construction Oversight & Quality Control:
Monitor construction progress and ensure adherence to schedules and budgets. Act as the primary point of contact for project status, delays, and execution. Conduct EHS safety audits, ensuring compliance with safety standards. Supervise and ensure construction is performed in compliance with Ericsson and customer standards. Partner with the Remote Construction Manager (RCM) and/or Senior Construction Manager to drive project goals.
Provide regular reports on project status, including challenges and achievements. Act as the point of contact for customer visits, government/customer inspections, and safety issues. Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to ASPs and their crews, RCMs, and other personnel. Deliver performance-related feedback for ASPs and other staff for evaluations. - Additional Responsibilities:
Collaborate with RF design teams to ensure project design and equipment placement is optimal. Assist with troubleshooting, design, and optimization of RAN systems (DOT, PDAS, ODAS). Perform other tasks as assigned by the Senior Construction Manager or Customer Project Manager. Operate independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Proactively identify problems and make sound decisions. Maintain strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and handle setbacks effectively.
Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams. Use a consultative approach to problem-solving and leadership.
- Minimum of 7+ years of experience in telecommunications construction management or related industry.
- In-depth knowledge of iBwave software, Anritsu, ODTR fiber testing, Microsoft Office Suite, and databases like Site Tracker.
- Strong understanding of Ericsson equipment and industry standards.
- Ability to manage budgets, project schedules, and subcontractors effectively.
- OSHA 30-hour certification for the telecommunications industry.
- Experience in site acquisition, zoning, permitting, and environmental compliance.
- Familiarity with RF design and small cell deployments (DOT, PDAS, ODAS).
- Field experience in managing construction scope estimation, contractors, and quality standards.
- Bachelor’s degree or related technical degree.
- Experience working on Ericsson equipment and portfolio.
- Advanced knowledge of EHS standards and regulatory issues.
