The Director, Global Sourcing & Center of Excellence will lead a talented team in strategic sourcing, working closely with cross‑functional teams, senior management, and key stakeholders to deliver value and support the organization’s strategic goals. The role aligns strategic sourcing with company‑wide objectives, utilizing best‑in‑class tools, data analytics, supplier diversity, and sustainability practices to optimize the overall procurement process.
Responsibilities- Partner closely with internal stakeholders and leadership to develop, engage, and lead supplier relationships that drive greatest value in cost effectiveness, supplier quality, service levels, risk management, sustainability, diversity, and innovation.
- Develop and execute global category strategies and plans that optimize a supply base to deliver best‑value pricing and meet overall requirements.
- Execute sourcing initiatives and negotiate strategic agreements for total costs, payment terms, service level agreements, and other key terms using should‑cost models, RFPs, benchmarking, advanced analytics, and eSourcing tools.
- Drive continued cost savings through identifying, assessing, and prioritizing initiatives focused on reducing the total cost of ownership.
- Manage ongoing supplier performance to achieve best-in-class results, setting objectives, SLAs, tracking KPI performance, and leading joint improvement efforts.
- Collaborate with third‑party subject matter experts to benchmark industry trends, improving results, processes, standards, analytics, and tools.
- Proactively monitor and manage supply risk to ensure continuity of supply or service.
- Leverage market insights, inflation mitigation techniques, and cost escalation/de‑escalation agreements to forecast and secure competitive pricing.
- Engage supplier innovation capabilities to identify and deliver improved products and services.
- Create a Center of Excellence for the Global Sourcing team, developing and implementing best‑practice standards in processes, systems/tools, data, analytics, and reporting.
- Standardize key processes across all sourcing categories, applying AI, robotics, and other techniques to automate where possible.
- Develop and implement a Global Sourcing Playbook to enable non‑Sourcing stakeholders globally to conduct key sourcing activities.
- Lead the team accountable for transactional and administrative activities such as p‑card, purchase orders, and travel, developing policies, guidelines, and automation to maximize efficiency.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Procurement, or equivalent; MBA is a plus.
- Lean or Six Sigma certification preferred.
- 10+ years of experience with increasing leadership responsibilities, including at least 7 years in a management level position leading people leaders.
- Strong strategic sourcing and supplier relationship management skills.
- Excellent business acumen, financial and cost modeling, data analysis, and root‑cause problem‑solving skills.
- Experience negotiating complex contracts, including strategic partnerships, pricing, SLAs, and other terms.
- Ability to track and manage supplier performance and set expectations for improvement.
- Demonstrated ability to identify, evaluate, and implement solutions for customers.
- Comprehensive understanding of end‑to‑end processes, business requirements, and process improvement.
- Supports and promotes cross‑functional team efforts, acting as process architect and change agent.
