Position Summary

Purchasing Manager - ACOMM is responsible for leading procurement activities for advanced communication systems, components, and related technologies. This role manages supplier relationships, negotiates contracts, ensures cost‑effective purchasing strategies, and maintains optimal inventory levels while supporting the company’s operational and strategic objectives in the telecommunications and technology sectors.

Key Responsibilities Strategic Procurement
  • Develop and execute purchasing strategies for ACOMM product lines and components
  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers and vendors for communication systems and equipment
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to achieve cost savings and favorable payment terms
  • Monitor market trends, pricing fluctuations, and supply chain dynamics in the telecommunications industry
Supplier Management
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and manufacturers
  • Conduct supplier performance evaluations and scorecards
  • Manage supplier onboarding, qualification, and continuous improvement processes
  • Resolve supplier issues, including quality concerns, delivery delays, and pricing disputes
Operational Excellence
  • Process purchase orders and requisitions accurately and efficiently
  • Coordinate with engineering, operations, and project teams to understand material requirements
  • Monitor inventory levels and implement inventory optimization strategies
  • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures
Financial Management
  • Manage purchasing budget and track spending against targets
  • Identify cost reduction opportunities and implement savings initiatives
  • Analyze total cost of ownership for procurement decisions
  • Provide accurate forecasting for procurement expenditures
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with project managers to support project timelines and deliverables
  • Collaborate with quality assurance teams to ensure supplier compliance
  • Work with warehouse/logistics teams to coordinate deliveries and receiving
  • Support sales and engineering teams with technical procurement requirements
Reporting & Analytics
  • Generate purchasing reports including spend analysis, savings tracking, and supplier metrics
  • Maintain accurate records in procurement systems and ERP platforms
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on procurement data
  • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs)
Required Qualifications Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or related field
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CPSM, CPPB, CPM) preferred
Experience
  • 5+ years of progressive purchasing/procurement experience
  • 2+ years in a purchasing management or senior buyer role
  • Experience with telecommunications, communications systems, or technology procurement strongly preferred
  • Proven track record of negotiating contracts and achieving cost savings
Technical Skills
  • Proficiency with ERP/procurement systems (experience with Paylocity or similar platforms a plus)
  • Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting
  • Familiarity with supply chain management software and tools
  • Understanding of ACOMM products, components, and industry standards

  • Understanding of telecommunications infrastructure and components
Physical Requirements
  • Primarily sedentary office work with occasional warehouse visits
  • Ability to use computer equipment and standard office technology
  • May require occasional travel to supplier sites or trade shows (up to 10%)
