Vaco is seeking a Payroll Specialist for an exciting opportunity with a global, high-growth client located in San Diego, CA. This hybrid role offers the chance to work with a dynamic payroll and accounting team and contribute to the success of a thriving international organization.

The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for processing and administering payroll across multiple states and entities. This is a hands-on role that requires a detail-oriented, proactive, and collaborative professional. The position reports directly to the Director of Global Payroll and Compensation.

• Process multi-state semi-monthly payroll for U.S. employees using Ulti Pro

• Post and reconcile journal entries and perform balance sheet reconciliations

• Enter payroll data and ensure accurate and timely processing

• Reconcile non-exempt timecards using Ulti Pro Time & Attendance

• Maintain payroll documentation and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information

• Respond to payroll-related inquiries from the payroll inbox with a 24-hour turnaround

• Calculate and issue manual paychecks as needed

• Assist with international payroll coordination and vendor updates

• Support ad hoc reporting and special payroll-related projects

• Bachelor's degree required

• Multi-entity and multi-state payroll experience is essential

• Proficient in Ulti Pro/UKG payroll systems

• Strong Excel and data management skills

• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

• Experience in international payroll and an accounting background is a plus
