We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Staff Accountant to join our Accounting team. This role will be responsible for assisting in the day-to-day general accounting functions, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end closing activities. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of GAAP, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and post journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded accurately.
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end account reconciliations.
  • Assist with the month-end and year-end close process.
  • Maintain and update general ledger accounts and supporting documentation.
  • Assist in preparing financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Analyze and reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with other departments to gather financial data and ensure accuracy.
  • Assist in the implementation and documentation of new accounting procedures and systems.
  • Perform other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2–3 years of experience in general accounting or related roles.
  • Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, Net Suite, SAP, Oracle, etc.).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze data accurately.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • CPA or working towards CPA certification is a plus.
