Senior Revenue Accountant – Irvine, CA
Location: Irvine, CA
Employment Type: Full-Time
A fast?growing company in Irvine is seeking a Senior Revenue Accountant with deep experience in ASC 606 and a strong understanding of revenue processes, contract review, and audit support. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys technical accounting, thrives in a collaborative environment, and can take ownership of complex revenue arrangements. You’ll play a key part in ensuring accurate revenue recognition, strengthening internal controls, and supporting both internal and external audits.
Key Responsibilities- Apply ASC 606 guidance to review customer contracts and determine appropriate revenue recognition treatment.
- Prepare, analyze, and maintain detailed revenue schedules and reconciliations.
- Lead month?end, quarter?end, and year?end close activities related to revenue.
- Partner with Sales, Legal, FP&A, and Operations to ensure contract terms align with accounting requirements.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation, responding to auditor inquiries, and ensuring compliance with controls.
- Analyze revenue trends, variances, and key metrics; present findings to management.
- Identify opportunities to improve revenue processes, systems, and reporting.
- Assist with system enhancements and automation initiatives related to revenue accounting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 4–7+ years of revenue accounting experience, ideally in SaaS, technology, or multi?element arrangement environments.
- Strong working knowledge of ASC 606 and technical revenue concepts.
- Experience supporting audits and working within a SOX?controlled environment.
- Proficiency with ERP systems such as Net Suite, SAP, or Oracle is a plus.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- CPA or CPA?track preferred.
