This is a strong opportunity for an accountant looking to deepen their exposure to real estate while developing toward more advanced responsibilities over time.
Primary Responsibilities- Perform day-to-day accounting activities for assigned properties, including data entry, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
- Support the monthly close process by preparing schedules, posting routine entries, and assisting with tie-outs.
- Process and track operating expenses, vendor invoices, and tenant billings, ensuring proper coding and documentation.
- Assist with tenant recoveries and CAM-related support, including expense tracking and reconciliation preparation.
- Maintain accurate and organized records within the property accounting system; ensure transactions are recorded timely and consistently.
- Respond to routine inquiries from internal teams regarding property expenses, balances, and basic financial activity.
- Assist with audit preparation by compiling documentation and responding to standard requests.
- Contribute to process documentation and support workflow improvements as accounting responsibilities continue to move in-house.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 1–3 years of accounting experience, preferably within real estate, property management, or a transactional accounting environment.
- Working knowledge of general ledger concepts, accruals, and reconciliations.
- Experience with property accounting software is a plus but not required.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to follow established procedures.
- Comfortable working in a structured, deadline-driven environment with clear guidance.
- Experience supporting AP, property accounting, or shared services functions
- Proficiency in Excel for basic reconciliations and reporting support
- Desire to grow into a more senior accounting role over time
