We are seeking a detail-oriented, experienced Senior Staff Accountant to join our growing accounting and finance team. You will support the daily accounting and month-end closing activities including the company’s most critical accounting processes. This person should have a solid understanding of accounting in a manufacturing setting. Importantly, you will be involved in improving and simplifying our critical accounting tasks.
SENIOR ACCOUNTANT
Summary
The Senior Accountant will support the Assistant Controller and Controller in managing the month end close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting. This is a hands-on position that sits in the core accounting team and offers a clear path to Accounting Manager over time for someone who proves themselves.
The ideal candidate brings a mix of public accounting audit experience and corporate accounting exposure, is comfortable working with inventory and physical counts, and communicates clearly with both finance and non-finance teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in the monthly, quarterly, and year end close.
- Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Assist with P&L reviews and variance analysis for management
- Support physical inventory and related inventory accounting as needed
- Help prepare financial information and support for external auditors
- Maintain and improve accounting processes and documentation in assigned areas
- Partner with sales, account management, and other departments to clarify transactions and resolve issues
- Provide backup and support across the accounting team during busy periods (year end, physical inventory, audits)
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Approximately 3–5 years of total experience:
- About 2 years in public accounting (audit, not tax) is preferred
- 2-4 years in corporate accounting, ideally already in a Senior Accountant position
- Solid understanding of US GAAP and financial statement audit concepts
- Experience in a product or inventory driven environment is a plus
- Strong Excel and general systems skills; comfortable learning new tools
- Clear, professional verbal and written communication in English
- Team oriented, steady, reliable, and comfortable in a position for 3–5 years while growing into more responsibility
