Leading consumer services company is looking for a high potential staff accountant to join the team. This position is onsite in Irvine (by the John Wayne airport) and reports to the Accounting Manager.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS- Responsible for the preparation of General Ledger journal entries for the month-end close and to close the books in a timely manner.
- Understand, analyze and complete balance sheet reconciliations, including explaining and reclassifying variances.
- Analyze and explain/reclassify variances in financial statements.
- Assist in the inventory accounting area by reviewing and analyzing financial data associated with inventory transactions.
- Responsible for accurate and timely accounting of company’s fixed assets and monthly reconciliation of the fixed asset.
- Manage and review monthly depreciation calculation for both book and tax accounting.
- Responsible for monitoring the status of CIP projects/assets.
- Ensure that monthly cash is reconciled, and bank reconciliations are complete and matched to the General Ledger
- Prepares and assists in the preparation of the monthly, quarterly, annual and other State or Federal report
- BS/BA Degree in Accounting, or BS/BA in Business with emphasis in accounting
- 2+ years’ work experience in accounting public accounting/private industry with a strong understanding of GAAP
