Leading consumer services company is looking for a high potential staff accountant to join the team. This position is onsite in Irvine (by the John Wayne airport) and reports to the Accounting Manager.

• Responsible for the preparation of General Ledger journal entries for the month-end close and to close the books in a timely manner.
• Understand, analyze and complete balance sheet reconciliations, including explaining and reclassifying variances.
• Analyze and explain/reclassify variances in financial statements.
• Assist in the inventory accounting area by reviewing and analyzing financial data associated with inventory transactions.
• Responsible for accurate and timely accounting of company’s fixed assets and monthly reconciliation of the fixed asset.
• Manage and review monthly depreciation calculation for both book and tax accounting.
• Responsible for monitoring the status of CIP projects/assets.
• Ensure that monthly cash is reconciled, and bank reconciliations are complete and matched to the General Ledger
• Prepares and assists in the preparation of the monthly, quarterly, annual and other State or Federal report

• BS/BA Degree in Accounting, or BS/BA in Business with emphasis in accounting
• 2+ years’ work experience in accounting public accounting/private industry with a strong understanding of GAAP
