Accounting Manager

About the Opportunity:
We are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Accounting Manager to join our team in Irvine area. This role is ideal for a motivated accounting professional with high-volume, large-company experience who is comfortable managing a seasoned team and diving into the nuances of a complex month-end close process.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage a tenured accounting team(Senior Accountants, Staff Accountants, and General Accountants).

• Lead all aspects of the month-end close process including journal entries, accruals, prepaids, and revenue recognition.

• Perform and review payroll reconciliations, bonus and commission accruals, and various insurance-related reconciliations (e.g., Workman’s Comp, Property, Liability).

• Maintain and reconcile benefit-related general ledger entries.

• Calculate and reconcile complex Vendor Rebates and experience working with large datasets in Excel required.

• Collaborate across departments and effectively communicate financial data and insights.

• Ensure accuracy and compliance with internal policies and external regulations.

• Drive continuous improvement and optimization within accounting processes.

• Report directly to the Controller and serve as a key contributor in financial reporting and audits.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred but not required).

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 2–3 years in a supervisory/leadership role.

• Proven experience with high-volume transactions in a large company environment.

• Strong general ledger, reconciliation, and month-end close experience.

• Proficiency with large ERP systems (Oracle or SAP experience highly preferred).

• Advanced Excel skills (v/x-lookups, pivot tables, handling large datasets).

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead, collaborate, and interact across all levels.

• Self-motivated, adaptable, and willing to “roll up your sleeves” when needed.
