About the Opportunity:
We are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Accounting Manager to join our team in Irvine area. This role is ideal for a motivated accounting professional with high-volume, large-company experience who is comfortable managing a seasoned team and diving into the nuances of a complex month-end close process.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage a tenured accounting team(Senior Accountants, Staff Accountants, and General Accountants).
Lead all aspects of the month-end close process including journal entries, accruals, prepaids, and revenue recognition.
Perform and review payroll reconciliations, bonus and commission accruals, and various insurance-related reconciliations (e.g., Workman’s Comp, Property, Liability).
Maintain and reconcile benefit-related general ledger entries.
Calculate and reconcile complex Vendor Rebates and experience working with large datasets in Excel required.
Collaborate across departments and effectively communicate financial data and insights.
Ensure accuracy and compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
Drive continuous improvement and optimization within accounting processes.
Report directly to the Controller and serve as a key contributor in financial reporting and audits.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred but not required).
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 2–3 years in a supervisory/leadership role.
Proven experience with high-volume transactions in a large company environment.
Strong general ledger, reconciliation, and month-end close experience.
Proficiency with large ERP systems (Oracle or SAP experience highly preferred).
Advanced Excel skills (v/x-lookups, pivot tables, handling large datasets).
Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead, collaborate, and interact across all levels.
Self-motivated, adaptable, and willing to “roll up your sleeves” when needed.
