- 1 year of experience in Med/Surg-Telemetry or Acute Care
- Telemetry experience
- Experience or knowledge of TURP-CBI is preferred
- Comfort with IV starts is necessary
- Must be able to float to like units and patients
Description:
The unit cares for a variety of patient populations.
Common diagnoses include NHP, cellulitis, UTI, COPD, GU, pacemaker, sepsis, and nursing home placements.
Patients may also require day surgical procedures, including orthopedic (hips and knees), cholecystectomies, appendectomies, and TURP-CBI.
A limited pediatric population is served, with a few cases per year.
The nurse-to-patient ratios are 5:1 for day shifts and 6:1 at night.
Charge nurses have an assignment.
Nurse aids are available within the unit.
Hospitalists or intensivists are present in-house until 6 PM daily, with telemedicine available afterward.
Respiratory therapy is available 24/7, and basic telemetry knowledge is expected from RNs.
Travelers may be assigned as relief charge nurses.
Self-scheduling is encouraged, though specific requests may not always be guaranteed.
Weekend and holiday rotations are required.
On-call and standby opportunities may be available.
A solid professional dress code is required for staff.
All staff must clock in and out during their shifts.
