Description:

The department is a Trauma Level IV facility with no stroke or STEMI receiving capabilities.
The department includes 14 beds and 2 trauma bays.
There are 3 designated fast track rooms.
We have 2 triage rooms, and travelers can perform triage after review.
Typically, patients are held within the department, utilizing attached rooms when overflow occurs.
The facility is equipped with separate psych/seclusion capabilities.
24/7 security is provided by local authorities and internal backup.
On average, 40-60 patients are treated daily in the emergency room.
The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:3-4 during the day and 1:2 mon patient diagnoses include traumatic injuries, medical emergencies, and other varied conditions.
ED physicians are available in-house 24/7 to provide support.
The department hosts a variety of staff including nurse aides, medics, and LPNs, who assist with overall patient care.
Respiratory therapy is available 24/7, handling ABGs, breathing treatments, and EKGs.
Phlebotomy draws labs, and x-ray and CT services are located nearby.
Scheduling is managed by the nurse manager, aiming to avoid short off periods.
Weekend work is required every other weekend, with holiday requirements also expected.
Floating to inpatient areas may be necessary for support.
Scrub colors are flexible, needing to be clean and professional.
