Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Installation Technician
You will be working with experienced trade specialists towards gaining a nationally recognised apprenticeship qualification through on and off the job training. You will be preparing and fixing building components, from the initial erection of a new building for an 18 month period to provide you with skills to begin a career.
What to expert:You’ll learn both on the job and during intensive residential training weeks accomodation, travel and subsistence is paid for during the block weeks and you’ll start off with three weeks in college, returning home each weekend. This will prepare you to fully contribute as soon as you get on site.
You will then return to college approximately every 20 weeks, for a two-week block of intensive training – where you’ll be learning all the time. At the end of your Intermediate Apprenticeship, you’ll have more experience and valuable job, skills, plus a natonally recognised apprenticeship qualification – but that’s just the beginning!
- Preparing and fixing building components, from the initial erection of a new building
- Installation of all necessary fixtures and fittings
- Repair and maintenance activities
- Health & Safety on site and work with an experienced mentor who will support your learning
- Calculate quality, length, area and wastage of resources
- Maintain and repair building components
- Work safely at height
- Use, maintain and store hand and power tools
Reporting to the Site Manager, you will work with experienced trade specialists towards gaining a nationally recognised apprenticeship qualification through on and off the job, trade specific training.
