The Role
As an Account Manager, you’ll take ownership of a stockfunding portfolio within your territory. Your focus will be on:
- New Business Development – generating and converting new dealer relationships
- Account Management – growing utilisation and strengthening existing partnerships
- Risk & Portfolio Control – helping with delinquency, exposure and write-offs
- Vendor & Partner Relationships – maintaining strong connections across your market
* This is a field-based role involving extensive travel within your assigned territory which will be the East of England (from Colchester to Peterborough).
- Build and execute an effective sales plan within your postcode territory
- Generate new business through cold calling, referrals and lead follow-up
- Maintain a healthy pipeline of opportunities
- Achieve monthly targets for applications and utilisation
- Support new customers through contracting and onboarding
- Work cross-functionally across the wider business
- Hold regular meetings with key dealer partners
- Develop structured market routing and territory planning
- Ensure compliance with company policies and audit guidelines
- Proactively manage and minimise delinquency
- Monitor portfolio trends and high-value loan exposures
- Support field collections and collateral repossessions where required
- Work closely with Risk, Recovery and Remarketing teams
- Use internal systems and Salesforce CRM effectively
- We’re looking for someone with a strong balance of “Hunter” and “Farmer” skills:
- Strong account management and relationship-building ability
- Understanding of motor retail stock sources (Cars and LCV)
- Confident negotiator with excellent communication skills
- Highly organised with strong time management
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, results-driven environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM systems (Salesforce desirable)
- Experience in Motor Retail – beneficial
- Sales and portfolio management experience – beneficial
- Finance industry experience – beneficial
