To support Balfour Beatty, deliver the project in accordance with customer and stakeholder requirements and commitments, including verification activities to demonstrate compliance against Balfour Beatty requirements, external accreditations and industry good practice.

To support the coordination, submission, compliance and management of all assurance activities and the resolution of assurance related issues. To ensure implementation of procedures including submissions from the supply chain and establishing test and inspection plans for delivery of the works.

What you'll be doing
  • Support the project team in developing quality plans and ensuring inspection & test plans are followed and that customer/project requirements are met, and review these from the project team and the supply chain.
  • Assist the delivery team in achieving required deliverables and managing issues as required, also providing quality advice to our supply chain where appropriate.
  • Use existing systems to establish sample and benchmark plans and agree them with customers and supply chain.
  • Use digital systems to monitor the performance of quality planning, production of quality deliverables and management of issues against targets.
  • Support the project team in collating and delivering handover records as per customer requirements, on time.
  • Attend inspections on site and/or at supplier premises as required by the inspection and test plans.
  • Support project teams in resolving raised nonconformities in a timely manner.
  • Review material approval records to ensure they are suitable from a quality point of view.
  • Support the quality team during internal and external audits.
  • Support the implementation of project quality strategies, plans, and actions across the scope of services and full project lifecycle.
  • Support the undertaking of specific investigations and reporting on quality related issues as required.

    Support the use of appropriate digital toolsets to support project governance and quality assurance/measures on the project, including training of those tools.
Essential Qualities / Experience
  • Prior quality experience and/or relevant operational/technical experience to meet industry sector demands.
  • Level 4+ qualification in quality, construction or PCQI.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9000 terminology.
  • Understanding and commitment to quality management.
  • Awareness of business improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to gather, analyse and evaluate facts.
  • Work to plans and programmes.
  • Pay attention to detail and see things through to completion.
  • Good at building relationships and can influence effectively.
  • Deliver reports orally and written in an objective manner.
  • Ability to challenge existing methods and ways of thinking.
  • Work within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Fully proficient in modern office computer systems and technology such as Office 365.
Desirable Qualities / Experience
  • ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor trained.
  • Awareness of nuclear industry requirements.
  • Experience in using digital progressive assurance systems / electronic forms.
  • Operational experience in construction management.
  • Major project experience.
