FTE capacity.
This position sees you working across both our Springfield and Ipswich sites.
Why This Role MattersAs a Prostate Cancer Specialist Nurse, you’ll work in partnership across all areas of healthcare—including non‑government organisations—to ensure continuity, quality, and compassion in every aspect of care. Your interventions will be tailored to each patient’s unique needs, with a focus on evidence‑based, seamless support.
This self‑directed role thrives on interdisciplinary collaboration across primary, secondary, and tertiary health services. You’ll help shape and implement innovative care models and may also represent Icon at forums and meetings locally and interstate.

- Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia
- Icon’s Network of Subject Matter Experts
- On‑site Nursing and Medical Specialists
- Deliver advanced, patient‑centred care for men with prostate cancer, including initial assessments, needs triage, care coordination, follow‑ups, and identifying clinical trial opportunities.
- Act as a clinical resource, mentor, and technical expert in prostate cancer care, including leading education programmes.
- Drive innovation and service development across cancer care, surgery, and perioperative services.
- Participate in clinical research and contribute to data collection relevant to prostate cancer care.
- Current AHPRA registration
- Advanced clinical skills in cancer or urological nursing
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills in a multidisciplinary setting
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Proven leadership and mentoring capabilities
- Analytical thinking and problem‑solving skills
- Commitment to quality improvement and best practice
- Postgraduate qualification (completed or in progress)
- Minimum 5 years post‑registration experience
- Significant experience in prostate cancer, urology, or oncology nursing
- Experience in patient education
- Competence in relevant clinical IT systems
