Fitter, Maintenance Technician ​/ Mechanic

Pay: circa £15ph

Hours:

37.5 hours per week (07:00-16:00 (early finish on Friday)

We are looking for a skilled fitter who has a strong knowledge of hydraulic systems. The following role is for a well-established engineering firm who have been operating in Ipswich for over 100 years!

To be considered for this position you need to have a mechanical fitting background, ideally with a good understanding of hydraulic systems & be competent in mechanical assembly. You will be expected to work independently & must be able to read engineering (CAD) drawings.

You will be working on heavier plant equipment, primarily used within the construction industry.

Fitter duties include:

- Assembly of plant equipment
Ensuring all equipment & parts are washed down & cleaned prior to fitting
Test the products after assembly to ensure the highest level of quality standards are met
Read & work from engineering drawings (CAD)
MUST be flexible & willing to assist and work in other departments as and when required
Ideally you will have a background in mechanical fitting or similar discipline. We may consider applicants who have worked in an assembly capacity & offer further training as mechanical engineers.

37.5 hours a week, Monday Friday. Any overtime is paid AT increased rates of pay!

This is a permanent position subject to a successful 3-month probation period.
