Position: Senior Change Communication Manager - 6-month FTC

This is a senior and strategic leadership role focused on providing clarity, engagement and advocacy for change and transformation across AXA UK & Ireland. You will shape and embed how leaders and colleagues understand, engage with and mobilise around company-wide change and transformation. You will lead strategic positioning, narrative development and engagement for major change across AXA UK&I. You are comfortable starting from scratch, including relationships, process and tools.

You will ensure our people are clear on why change is happening, what it means for AXA and how they contribute to its success. The role works in close partnership with the Transformation Office and People Change teams, who are accountable for programme delivery and change implementation. This is a 6-month fixed-term contract.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and own the overarching internal narrative for our change and transformation agenda, focusing on the Next Gen transformation programme.
  • Ensure major change initiatives are framed within a single, coherent story that resonates with all colleagues regardless of business unit or function. Translate complex strategic shifts into clear, compelling and consistent messaging.
  • Design and lead company-wide engagement strategies that build understanding, advocacy and behavioural alignment for major change initiatives.
  • Create engagement approaches that move beyond information-sharing to ongoing dialogue and participation.
  • Act as senior strategic advisor to management committee members, top 100 senior leaders and people leaders on change messaging and colleague engagement. Support them to communicate change authentically, consistently and visibly.
  • Lead the internal communication strategy for major change and transformation programmes ensuring appropriate and effective sequencing, clarity and consistency.
  • Contribute to the overall leadership, development and success of the Internal Communications function.
  • Establish clear metrics for engagement effectiveness and change and transformation understanding.
  • Manage and develop the Change and Transformation Communications team.
  • Work arrangements: you will work at least two days a week away from home, gradually moving to three days a week.
Work arrangements

A willingness to split time between home and the office is required. You’ll work at least two days a week (40%) away from home, moving to three days a week (60%) in the future. Away from home means attending the office, visiting clients or attending industry events. You’ll work in the London office regularly. Flexible working arrangements can be discussed with Talent Acquisition.

Qualifications
  • Significant experience leading change communications and engagement in large, complex organisations undergoing significant transformation.
  • Deep expertise in delivering strategic change communications within highly transformative environments.
  • Experience managing and developing high-performing change communications teams.
  • Expert in shaping company-wide change narratives aligned to broader organisational narratives and strategy.
  • Demonstrable ability to influence and advise senior stakeholders.
  • Advanced stakeholder engagement and audience segmentation capability.
  • Strong understanding of organisational dynamics during periods of significant change.
  • Experience in change communication planning across business units in complex matrix organisations.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with practical delivery oversight.
