Ipswich Borough Council are about to see the biggest changes to waste and recycling which will impact our residents in Ipswich and all our businesses.

It’s an exciting time to join us.

We are seeking Waste Loaders
to join us in March 2026 and to be part the council’s refuse and cleansing team.

You will:

  • to be able to load refuse bins each day
  • be confident in using handheld tablets to record information (training will be provided)
  • demonstrate self-awareness and confident approach to health and safety
  • be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • have effective communications skills
  • have experience in working as a team with a can-do attitude
  • be required to work early starts from 5am and variations to finishing times.

These opportunities are full time and part time (minimum of 2 days a week)

We can support you in undertaking the Urban Driver Apprentice scheme which helps our loaders gain their Cat C license with clear career progression into our Driver team.
