Catering assistant

We are currently recruiting enthusiastic and caring Catering Assistants to support a variety of catering environments across the Ipswich area, including schools, care homes, contract catering sites, and events.

This is a varied role where you’ll assist with food preparation and service while helping to ensure high standards of nutrition, hygiene, and customer care. Due to the range of locations, a driving licence and access to your own vehicle would be advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

Support food preparation tasks such as chopping, sandwich making, and portioning
Prepare and replenish service areas
Serve meals in a friendly, professional, and timely manner
Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, equipment, and utensils
Follow all food safety and hygiene procedures
Assist with stock control and rotation
Work closely with the catering team to ensure smooth daily operations
Candidate Requirements

Previous catering or food service experience is beneficial but not essential
Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
Good communication and teamwork skills
Willingness to learn and take on a variety of tasks
Flexibility to work different shifts, including weekends and holidays
Enhanced DBS clearance is essential
