Finance Trustee mental health charity - Volunteer

Do you have a passion for mental health and wellbeing and a talent for financial oversight? Suffolk User Forum is seeking a Finance Trustee to join our board and play a vital role in supporting our long‑term financial health and sustainability.

As the Finance trustee, you will shape the organisation’s strategic direction, ensure sustainability, and uphold its mission to empower service users and promote their voices. By contributing your skills, you’ll help improve mental health services, reduce stigma, and gain valuable governance, leadership, and voluntary‑sector experience.

The Finance Trustee will enhance the board’s discharge of its financial responsibilities. The post holder acts as lead trustee, assisting the board to scrutinise financial reports, supporting the board and CEO on good finance governance—including systems, controls, reporting and monitoring—and advising on reserves and investment policies.

• Essential Book‑keeping or accountancy experience.
• Desirable Accountancy qualification or experience of charity finance.

We value trustees with local knowledge of services under the NHS Suffolk, North East Essex Integrated Care Board, and Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust.

We are looking to add new voices to our board of trustees. We need people passionate about mental health, especially those with lived experience, to ensure that the voices of service users, carers, and families are at the heart of care. While we specifically need a Finance Trustee, we would love to hear from people with experience in leadership, diversity and inclusion, information governance, HR, and fundraising.
