Senior Structural Engineer
Location:
Ipswich
Salary: £45,000 – £55,000
A leading consultancy with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality urban infrastructure projects is seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join their expanding team. This is a unique opportunity to take a lead role in a growing multidisciplinary practice with an impressive track record in the residential, commercial, and industrial sectors.
The Role:
As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for technical leadership and project delivery across a wide range of infrastructure and building developments. You will also play a key role in mentoring junior team members and ensuring quality standards are met across all deliverables.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and deliver complex infrastructure and building projects from concept to completion
Lead multidisciplinary project teams and provide technical guidance and mentoring
Liaise confidently with clients, stakeholders, and design team members
Ensure project compliance with ISO 9001 quality management systems
Support the Technical Director with internal process improvements and documentation updates
Manage and review technical outputs including calculations, specifications, and reports
Work collaboratively with internal teams and external consultants to deliver on-time and within budget
Willingness to travel within the UK for short-term project requirements
Promote flexible, efficient working and contribute to a positive team culture
About You:
Qualifications & Experience
Required:
Chartered or near-chartered Civil or Structural Engineer (MICE or MIStruct
E)
Minimum 5 years' experience in consultancy, preferably within public sector infrastructure projects
Strong understanding of British Standards, Eurocodes, DMRB, Manual for Streets
Solid technical knowledge of materials including steel, concrete, timber, and masonry
Proven experience with drainage and highway design including SUDs, SAB applications, and Sectionprocesses
Proficiency with relevant software such as STAADPro, Bentley Sewer Gems, AutoCAD, and MS Office
Full UK Driving Licence
