Planner – Main Civils Works

Location: Ipswich/Hybrid

Join the exciting journey of one of the UK's largest nuclear projects at Sizewell C! The Civil Works Alliance (CWA) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Planner to join the Main Civil Works team. The Planner’s role is to work with the MCW Planning Lead/ Senior Planner for one of the Delivery team sections, as well as coordinating with the MCW wider team, and assist in developing, managing, coordinating, and monitoring the project programme for specific reinforced concrete buildings/structures.

CWA, appointed by the Sizewell C client, brings together three leading delivery contractors – Laing O'Rourke, Bouygues, and Balfour Beatty – to deliver the civils scope including Enabling Earthworks, Main Civil Works, and Marine and Tunnelling.

• Working within one of the delivery sections, support the section Planning Lead.
• Actively contribute to develop, maintain and update detailed master and short-term project programmes in accordance with the Project Requirements.
• Assist in developing a logical sequence and methodology to help ensure that the most beneficial construction strategy is adopted.
• Analyse performance and contribute to advising the project team of likely impact.
• Defining resource requirements.
• Assist in coordinating internal customers – supply chain, engineering, design, commercial, construction on time related matters.
• Liaise with site team and supply chain to check on progress, issues and review planned progress to ensure programme maintained.
• Highlight issues for trending and resolution.
• Record and report on efficiency of labour and resources.
• Internal and external reporting.

• A level of experience in the development of construction programmes in a civil engineering environment.
• Some experience in the planning of reinforced concrete works.
• Proficiency in Primavera P6 planning software.
• Comfortable working on large scale infrastructure works.

• Degree in civil or structural engineering.
• Professionally qualified or actively working towards professional qualification.
