About the role
Part-time – 17.5 hours per week. Salary: £16,500 - £18,000 per annum (FTE £33,000 - £36,000 per annum).
The Diocese of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich is recruiting a part‑time Safeguarding Trainer and Training Co‑ordinator to support the mission and ministry of the Church of England in Suffolk. The role involves coordinating, quality assuring and delivering safeguarding training programmes relevant to those working with children and vulnerable groups in the Diocese.
Key responsibilities- Coordinate, quality assure and deliver safeguarding training programmes.
- Consult with the National Church of England Safeguarding Team’s Training and Development Manager to ensure alignment with national policy.
- Work closely with the Diocesan Safeguarding Team to coordinate and facilitate the recruitment, training, development and ongoing support of Diocesan Approved Volunteer Safeguarding Trainers.
- Review and quality assure course content and delivery, ensuring compliance with safeguarding policies and procedures for children, adults and vulnerable ‘at risk’ groups.
- Adapt training approaches to meet the needs and priorities of a range of stakeholders.
- Experience delivering safeguarding training, both virtually and in person.
- Proven ability to review and quality assure course content and delivery.
- Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures for children, adults and vulnerable groups.
- Willingness and ability to adapt training approaches to meet stakeholder needs.
- Ability and willingness to travel throughout Suffolk and occasionally further afield.
- Successful completion of an acceptable DBS check.
