Scheme Delivery Manager

Role Overview

We are recruiting an experienced Scheme Delivery Manager to join a long‑term highways maintenance and improvement contract in Suffolk. This is a key role within a busy construction delivery team, overseeing multiple schemes and ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

• Manage and maintain construction programmes to ensure works are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
• Coordinate labour, plant, materials, and subcontractors efficiently.
• Ensure Construction Phase Plans, method statements, and safe systems of work are in place prior to works commencing.
• Maintain high HSEQ standards across all schemes.
• Liaise with stakeholders including local authorities, designers, network managers, and community representatives.
• Ensure all site personnel are competent, trained, and compliant.
• Take responsibility for commercial performance in collaboration with commercial teams.
• Maintain accurate site records including site diaries, resource allocation, and as‑built information.
• Support programme development, phasing plans, and construction methodologies.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key supply chain partners.
• Assist with Early Contractor Involvement, buildability reviews, and traffic management integration.
• Participate in value engineering and value management activities.
• Work in line with internal quality, safety, and environmental procedures.

• SMSTS or IOSH.
• CSCS.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• HNC or Degree in a construction‑related discipline (desirable).

• Proven experience delivering highways or civil engineering schemes.
• Strong understanding of health and safety management.
• Ability to manage costs and control budgets effectively.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• A collaborative team player with a proactive mindset.
• Innovative approach with the ability to identify improved methods of working.
