Group Exercise Coordinator
New Opportunity! Are you passionate about fitness, group exercise, and helping others reach their wellness goals? Are you organized, energetic, and love leading a team? The YMCA is looking for a Group Exercise Coordinator to help lead and grow our fitness programs!
The Group Exercise Coordinator plays an important role in creating an engaging and high-quality fitness experience for our members. Working closely with the Health & Wellness Director, this position helps manage instructor schedules, support program growth, and ensure our group exercise offerings stay exciting and welcoming for all.
What You’ll DoLead & Support Fitness Programs
- Help oversee group exercise classes to ensure safe, inclusive, and fun experiences
- Monitor program success and participant feedback to help improve offerings
- Step in to instruct classes when needed
Coordinate & Support Staff
- Manage instructor schedules and ensure class coverage
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training new instructors
- Provide guidance and support to maintain program standards
Support Events & Specialty Programs
- Assist with health and wellness initiatives including Enhance Fitness, Live Strong, and Corner Stone
- Help plan and support workshops, events, and special programming
Administrative & Marketing Support
- Help create flyers, digital promotions, and outreach materials
- Track class attendance and help analyze program success
- Assist with payroll review and documentation
Member Engagement
- Create a welcoming and motivating environment for participants
- Address member questions and feedback to enhance overall experience

QualificationsPlease mention any group ex certifications you hold in your resume or application.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience preferred.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Strong verbal communication skills with a passion for serving the community.
- Team-oriented mindset with a commitment to contributing to the success of the YMCA and its mission.
* Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 lbs.
* Ability to walk, stand, and sit for long periods of time.
* Position may require bending, leaning, kneeling, twisting and reaching.
* Ability to speak concisely and effectively communicate.
* Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical situations and physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency.
