Field Service Technician – IT, Surveillance & Access Control

Super Hi Tech  | Sheldon, IA | Full-Time | $16–$26/hr DOE

We’re growing, and we’re looking for a Field Service Technician to join our hands-on team.

You’ll be in the field installing, configuring, and supporting technology across residential and commercial sites throughout northwestern Iowa and eastern South Dakota — from wireless networks to IP camera systems to electronic access control.

• Install and configure wireless access points, routers, and point-to-point wireless bridges
• Deploy IP camera systems (NVR and server-based) and electronic locks/access control panels
• Terminate, splice, and test ethernet, coax, and CL2/CL3 low-voltage cabling
• Conduct site assessments and provide customer estimates
• Troubleshoot network, camera, and door hardware issues
• Document installs and service work with photos, diagrams, and clear service notes
• Communicate clearly with customers and teammates
• Represent Super Hi Tech  with professionalism and integrity

• 2-year technical degree in Electronics or IT,
  OR
  2+ years of field tech / low-voltage / IT installation experience
• Strong working knowledge of IP networking, wireless systems, and PoE
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and follow NEC/TIA standards
• Comfortable making independent decisions in the field
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• A genuine commitment to quality and continuous improvement

• Experience with access control hardware (maglocks, electric strikes, card readers)
• Certifications:
  
  CompTIA A+, Network+, BICSI, or OSHA 10
• Familiarity with Ubiquiti, Hanwha, HPE, or Aruba products
• Comfortable on ladders, lifts, and with hand/power tools

This is a hands-on field role. You should be comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs regularly (up to 100 lbs occasionally), working on ladders and lifts, and operating in a variety of environments — indoors, outdoors, and in mechanical rooms — including variable temperature conditions.

Monday–Friday | Occasional evenings/weekends based on project needs

• Installing wireless bridges between two farm buildings
• Deploying a new IP camera system at a manufacturing facility
• Running and terminating ethernet for a small business network upgrade
• Troubleshooting connectivity issues for a point-to-point link
• Setting up electronic door access for a local office
