Position Overview

Underground Utility Locator at Vannguard Utility Partners, Inc. Responsible for locating underground utilities to protect construction sites. 10‑hour shift, full‑time, multiple locations.

Hourly wage: $20.00 – $26.00. Benefits include a company vehicle, paid training, competitive wages, dental, health & life insurance, 401(k), paid vacation, and overtime pay.

• Drive a company vehicle directly from home to job sites in response to routine ticket requests, emergencies, and relays.
• Use provided mapping tools and locating equipment to identify underground utilities (electric, gas, telephone, and other communication lines).
• Mark utility locations with paint or flags and communicate relevant information to excavation personnel or appropriate authorities.
• Respond to after‑hours emergency call‑outs per the established rotation schedule.

• Computer skills.
• Valid driver’s license in the applicable state of employment.
• Ability to work overtime when duties cannot be performed within the normal work schedule.
• Subject to Vannguard’s Drug‑Free Workplace Program and completion of a pre‑employment drug screening.
• Self‑manage and communicate with supervisors and clients in a timely manner.

• Drive 50–300+ miles daily as required by the assigned geographic locating area.
• Get in and out of a vehicle 50+ times a day.
• Stand and walk lengthy distances (1+ mile) over uneven terrain in all weather conditions.
• Sit for long periods while driving.
• Lift and/or move 50–150 pounds.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions.

• High school or equivalent (required).
• Driver’s license (required).

• 10‑hour shift, Monday‑Friday, on call, overtime possible.
• Outdoor work; all weather conditions.
