Underground Utility Locator

We are recruiting Underground Utility Locators in your area for a rewarding career. This is a full‑time position with a competitive hourly wage of $20.00 – $26.00.

Vannguard Utility Partners, Inc. seeks motivated, safety‑oriented individuals who are comfortable working outdoors and independently. Candidates will receive paid training and will be driving a company vehicle, using computer‑based utility maps and specialized locating equipment to prevent damage to underground utilities.

• Drive a company vehicle to job sites in response to routine ticket requests, emergencies, and relocations.
• Use mapping tools and locating equipment to identify underground utilities, including electric, gas, telephone, and other communication lines.
• Mark utility locations with paint and flags and communicate relevant information to excavation personnel or authorities.
• Respond to after‑hours emergency call‑outs according to the rotation schedule.

• Ability to work overtime when necessary
• Compliance with Vannguard’s drug‑free workplace program and completion of a pre‑employment drug screening
• Self‑management and timely communication with supervisors and clients

• Drive 50 to 300+ miles daily as required by the assigned area
• Enter and exit a vehicle 50+ times a day
• Stand and walk long distances (1+ mile) over uneven terrain in all weather conditions
• Sit for long periods while driving
• Lift and/or move 50 to 150 pounds
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions

• High school diploma or equivalent (Required)

• Driver’s license (Required)

• Multiple locations
