Overview

Location - Emmetsburg, IA

ASI-Contracting is looking for a grain bin technician to join our crew. As a grain bin technician your primary purpose will be service calls, repairs, and a variety of other tasks. This position will be working outside in all kinds of weather conditions. We are looking for a safety-oriented person to become a valuable asset to our team.

Pay

PAY: $15.00-$20.00 or higher based on experience (possible wage increase after 60 days based on performance)

Hours

HOURS: Primarily: 7am-5pm, Monday thru Friday (occasional weekends)

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Move machinery and equipment, using hoist, dollies, rollers, and trucks
  • Assemble and install equipment, such as shafting, conveyors, and tram rails, using hand tools and power tools
  • Align machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, lasers and plumb bobs
  • Assemble machinery and bolts, welds, rivets, or otherwise fastens them to foundation or other structures, using hand and power tools
  • Repair and lubricate machinery and equipment
  • Attach load with grappling devices, such as loops, wires, ropes, and chains to crane hook
  • Set up braces, and rigs hoisting equipment using hand tools and power wrenches
  • Follow instruction and safety procedures on the job site
  • Operate a variety of hand and power tools, including drills and other tools as directed by supervisor
  • Work at heights without fear
  • Make decisions based on measurable information
  • Provide labor support as needed for specialty crews
  • Listen and follow instruction from supervisor
  • Preform other tasks as needed and directed by supervisor
Education and Experience
  • High School diploma or GED
  • 1-2 years of related experience and knowledge in grain bins and grain handling equipment
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Operated:
    Skid-loader, Forklift, Impacts, Chop Saws, and a variety of other hand & power tools
  • Welding

    Experience:

    Arc/stick, Wire feed, Torch
  • Able to read tape measure
  • Reliable transportation and valid drivers license
  • Self-motivated
Physical Demands
  • Climb and maintain body balance at heights of 100ft. or more on ladders, scaffolding, or high structures
  • Lift 60lbs regularly
  • Frequently required to bend, stoop, crouch, reach, sit, and stand for long periods of time.
  • Full range of body movements
Working Conditions
  • Workdays maybe from 45+ hours per week, or as needed to meet customer demand
  • Could include early mornings, late evenings, and weekends
  • Traveling to jobsites in company vehicle
  • Most of the time will be spent outside in all types of weather including hot and cold
