Maintenance Foreman
White Pine County Maintenance Department is seeking applicants for the position of Maintenance Foreman
.
This is a Full-Time Maintenance Foreman position. Under the direction of the Parks & Building Maintenance Superintendent, directs, supervises, and participates in the maintenance of County buildings, grounds, and recreational facilities throughout the County.
Minimum QualificationsHas a valid Nevada Driver’s License. Possess a high school diploma or a state equivalent. Vocational education or at least three (3) years of progressively responsible building maintenance and construction experience, including skill in at least one building trade with supervisory experience, is preferred.
Knowledge and AbilitiesKnowledge of
- Basic principles and practices of supervision;
- Methods, materials, equipment, and tools used in the construction, maintenance, electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems and repair of buildings;
- safety and operating procedures for building maintenance of County facilities;
- Occupational hazards and safety practices related to building maintenance;
- Proper operation of equipment and vehicles uses in operations.
Ability to
- Perform and/or oversee a variety of unskilled, semi-skilled, and skilled manual maintenance and construction tasks.
- Understand and apply diagrams, blueprints, schematic drawings, and applicable codes;
- Work independently and as part of a crew;
- Carry out written and verbal instructions;
- Effectively supervise construction, maintenance, and repair projects and operations consistent with department policies and goals;
- Supervise and evaluate the work of staff;
- Work effectively under the pressure of deadlines and emergencies;
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with County employees and members of the public;
- Analyze activities and methods; select appropriate alternatives and project the consequences of proposed actions;
- Implement work methods consistent with regulations and department policies and procedures;
- Understand, interpret, and apply laws and regulations;
- Communicate effectively orally and in writing on matters related to department operations;
- Operate and train staff in the proper use of and required maintenance of golf course, parks, and fairgrounds equipment.
Full-Time; 40 hours per week; 6:00am-2:30pm
Pay RateGrade 140 (Z)$33.66-(2)$36.10 DOE
