Territory Manager
- Material Handling Equipment
Responsible for the development and execution of marketing plan to attain and maintain the desired market position within assigned territory within the state of Iowa (based out of Nevada, IA facility). This includes making necessary sales, rentals, support calls and presentations. Must maintain open and effective communication between all parties to increase sales and profits. The desired market plan should include new and used equipment sales, allied equipment sales, service development, fleet management, as well as rental and leasing.
Must be able to effectively identify, communicate and resolve customer problems and operational issues with high-energy and professional work ethics.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for effective professional selling principles and ethics in the work environment
- Increase overall revenues of new and used equipment sales, service, rental, leasing and aftermarket products
- Increase visibility including market share for equipment and aftermarket sales
- Develop strategic plans and work with the management team to ensure continued growth of the assigned territory
- Manage the development and activity of assigned territory and accounts including the selling process
- Call on current and new customers
- Develops and makes sales presentations and ensure outstanding customer service
- Responsible for excellent communication with the necessary parties regarding pre and post-sales issues
- Develop and maintain relationships with all customers and build new relationships with potential customers
- Listen attentively to others, ask clarifying questions, stay open to other viewpoints, manage distractions and interruptions
- Understands the importance of timely follow up with customers, managers and staff making communication a top priority
- Completes all paperwork and reports completely as required in a timely manner
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Position Qualifications
- 2+ years as a sales professional in one of the following industries: industrial forklift, agriculture, or construction
- Adequate knowledge of the forklift industry including sales, rental, and support experience required
- Strong customer relationship skills and work ethic
- Great problem-solving skills with the ability to make common-sense decisions
- Must be able to work independently
- College degree preferred
- High School Degree or equivalent experience required
- Basic knowledge and abilities of Microsoft Office products
- Must be insurable to drive a company vehicle
