Position Title: Quality Technician
Wage: $19-$23/hour
Shift: 1st
Hours: 6am-4:30pm
Join a manufacturing team focused on quality and continuous improvement. Perform inspections, precision measurements, and documentation to ensure products meet specifications. Great fit for candidates with QA/QC experience, blueprint reading skills, and knowledge of ISO/SPC tools. Enjoy a 3-day weekend every week with a casual dress code! This is an associate to hire Quality Technician role in Mount Vernon, IA.
Quality Technician Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Perform visual inspections on in-process and finished products to verify conformance to specifications
- Conduct dimensional checks using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision tools
- Inspect incoming materials and components for defects or discrepancies
- Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with quality procedures
- Document inspection results and maintain accurate quality records
- Participate in root-cause analysis and corrective action activities
- Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and other teams on quality improvements
- Assist in developing quality procedures, work instructions, and training materials
- Support Environmental Health and Safety procedure development
- Provide assistance during customer audits and respond to quality-related inquiries
Quality Technician Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- Proven experience in quality assurance or quality control within manufacturing
- Ability to complete PPAPs and FAIs upon hire
- Strong computer skills, including ERP systems and Excel
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, SPC, Six Sigma, and general quality management tools
- Ability to read engineering drawings and technical documents
- Ability to perform inspections requiring fine motor skills and precise measurements
- Ability to stand, move, and handle materials as needed for inspection tasks
- May work in production, inspection, or testing areas depending on assignment
- May require occasional overtime based on production needs
- Casual dress code
