Seasonal Park Technician

Palo Alto County Conservation is accepting applications for a Seasonal Park Technician position. This seasonal position will beworking approximately 14 weeks at 40 hours/week during the spring and summer months. The position may require some weekend hours throughout thesummer. The position will be under the direct supervision of the Operation Supervisor to assist in the day-to-day operations of the county’sparks.

Duties:include but not limited to mowing, janitorial duties, facility maintenance,trail maintenance, campground patrol, prescribed fire, invasive species removal, and minor construction projects. Will need to be able to operate a variety of hand tools,power tools, equipment, and vehicles after training.

Requirements:
Ability to routinely stand, walk, sit, kneel, and operate all hand tools and power toolsfor extended period. Ability to routinely lift 50 pounds. Abilityto follow written and oral instructions. Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.

Minimum:
Must be 18 years of age, have a valid driver’s license, ability to lift 50 pounds, and work in all weather conditions. Prefer:
Education and experience in natural resource management field but not required.
