2025-26 Wages: $177.00 Full day, $88.50 Half Day

Full day or half day shifts and flexibility to work when you want to!

In order for an application to be considered complete, a copy of each of the following documents must be uploaded with the application.

• Act as a liaison between parents, school personnel, physicians and agencies in school medical matters.
• Assume responsibility for the immediate care to students or staff members who have suffered injury or emergency illness, and administer first aid in accordance with established procedures when necessary; including awareness and implementation of district and/or building disaster plans as necessary.
• Advise within the building on matters of student health needs and maintaining sanitary and safe conditions.
• Participate in in-service training programs as required for substitute nurses.
• Dispense medications and keep accurate records regarding medications.
• Utilize individual and Emergency health care plans for students with special health care needs.
• Notify staff of students with special health conditions and needs.
• Assist with completing communicable disease reports to SCHD during coverage period.
• Communicate with the school nurse as needed to maintain continuity of care.
• Support and implement Davenport’s multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS) for behavior and academics.
• Maintain good attendance and punctuality to ensure duties are performed successfully.
• Other duties as assigned by administration.

• Current Iowa RN License
• Current Iowa Mandatory Reporter Child Abuse certificate
• Current Iowa Mandatory Reporter:
  Dependent Adult Abuse certificate

• Must be able to lift/push/pull 50 lbs.
• Ability to physically lift 50 lbs, bend, stoop, push/pull, walk, twist, and kneel.

• RN License Required
• Current certification in CPR for Health Professionals
• Ability and desire to work with children, parents, administrators, staff, and the community to support the educational process
• Experience working with children (desired)
• Knowledge of Iowa Nurse Delegation grid
• Knowledge of HIPAA/FERPA laws
• Computer skills to input and gather data in Infinite Campus; ability to use Microsoft Outlook
• Participate in continuing education and professional meetings
