PRN Registered Nurse; RN

Position: PRN Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: New Hampton

Village Caregiving is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse to join our home care team. The RN will visit clients' homes to document medical history, conduct health assessments, and develop personalized care plans for caregivers. On occasion, the nurse may also be asked to train new caregivers.

This position will assist with client assessments across multiple counties, including Allamakee, Bremer, Butler, Chickasaw, Clayton, Fayette, Floyd, Howard, Mitchell, and Winneshiek. The schedule is flexible, and compensation is $60/hour for up to 2 hours per client assessment.

Responsibilities

• Visit clients in their homes for one-on-one visits
• Complete initial and ongoing assessments to identify the physical, psychosocial, and environmental needs of home health clients
• Assess clients and their environment to develop a care plan in order for the caregiver to have a blueprint to know how to safely and competently take care of our clients
• Educate clients and their families on proper home health care strategies and procedures, and make recommendations for devices or tools that might improve the client's quality of life
• Provide effective communication to clients, their family members, team members, and other health care professionals
• Fill out VA Nurse Assessment documents on a supplied tablet the same day as assessment; upload assessment to CRM
• Keep timely communication with the Executive Director on schedule for upcoming and current assessments
• Notify the Executive Director at the end of each pay period with a list of assessments completed

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Diploma, Associate, or Bachelor's School of Nursing, or vocational nursing
• Current state license as an RN
• Proof of current CPR certification
• Compassionate, friendly demeanor
• Excellent communication skills
• Current driver's license and reliable transportation
• Ability to work a flexible schedule and travel locally
