Van Buren County Hospital is seeking a Clinic Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support providers and registered nurses in delivering efficient, patient-centered care in an outpatient clinic setting. This position plays a key role in supporting increased patient encounters by assisting with clinical workflows and providing nursing care under appropriate supervision and direction.
Key ResponsibilitiesRoom patients and obtain vital signs, medication lists, allergies, and patient history
Assist physicians, mid-level providers, and RNs with examinations and procedures
Perform nursing duties within LPN scope of practice, including injections, wound care, catheterizations, and specimen collection as ordered
Communicate patient information accurately through verbal communication and electronic medical record documentation
Handle and triage patient phone calls, escalating concerns appropriately
Perform routine and CLIA-waived testing, phlebotomy, specimen processing, and basic quality control as assigned
Maintain exam rooms, supplies, and equipment in a clean, organized, and ready state
Follow clinic policies, safety standards, and infection control practices
Support quality improvement activities and clinic workflow efficiency
QualificationsGraduate of an accredited school of nursing
Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the State of Iowa
Mandatory Reporter Certification
One to three years of clinical experience preferred
Additional InformationOutpatient clinic environment
Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
