Position Goal

HACAP Food Reservoir provides food and support for families, children, and seniors who are facing food insecurity. We are looking for a Food Reservoir Director to join our dedicated team! The Food Reservoir Director has the responsibility for planning, leadership and resource development to sustain the Food Reservoir and its programs and to advocate food security for all.

Schedule and Wage

Monday - Friday from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm (some non-traditional hours may be needed). $35.03 - $52.18 hourly depending upon education and experience.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the Food Reservoir Team.
    • Recruit, hire, and directly supervise the Food Reservoir Management Team.
  • Plan, develop, implement, and monitor the operations for the Food Reservoir that are consistent with HACAP’s mission and vision, Feeding America requirements, as well as other funder requirements while also balancing neighbor centered practices in the approach.
  • Responsible for agency and personnel compliance under the HACAP Policies and Procedures.
  • Ensures that all Food Reservoir programs are operated in compliance with agency, Feeding America, Iowa HHS and/or funder requirements.
  • Responsible for projecting a positive image of the agency in the community.
  • Effectively identifies problems, takes appropriate corrective actions or makes timely notification to the HACAP CEO for areas beyond the Food Reservoir's control.
  • Responsible for developing resources to support Food Reservoir programs/operations.
  • Responsible for monitoring all fundraising programs and strategies.
  • Responsible for submitting proposals and required reports for funding.
  • Responsible for setting up the system with the Food Reservoir to ensure maintaining accountability to donors.
  • Participates in the agency management team and works collaboratively with other managers toward achieving agency initiatives.
  • Responsible for maintaining multiple relationships with service providers, internally and externally.
  • Represents the agency throughout the community and in the media on department related topics.
  • Maintains open communications and relationships with governmental units, community agencies, and volunteer groups.
  • Represents HACAP at community groups related to hunger and/or economic sufficiency.
  • Acts as an advocate for hunger/food insecurity issues at the local, state, and national level.
  • Convenes the Food Reservoir Advisory Council at a minimum of quarterly to obtain feedback about current practices and financial review.
  • Develop departmental budgets following agency guidelines.
  • Approves department expenditure of funds within budget parameters.

Education And/or Experience
  • Bachelor s Degree.
  • Three years of experience in a non-profit or human service organization.
  • Two years of supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated resource development capability.
