Overview
The Intake Operator II is responsible for monitoring processes, materials and surroundings to ensure safety and quality of incoming liquid dairy product in accordance with applicable compliance and security protocols. The Intake Operator II is also responsible for operating the milk ultra-filtration equipment.
Responsibilities- Ensure tankers are sealed and paperwork matches during receiving.
- Sample milk tankers for food safety; running required temperature, antibiotics and sensory tests prior to offloading product.
- Complete all documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
- Effectively perform all daily operations associated with shipping and receiving liquid dairy products.
- Conduct Clean In Place (CIP) duties as needed.
- Quickly recognize when factors are outside acceptable parameters.
- Safely and efficiently load and offload liquid dairy products.
- Understand and comply with all Food Safety/Quality Assurance policies, immediately reporting any potential food safety issues to management.
- Adhere to the Master Sanitation Schedule for assigned area.
- Perform daily operations and clean equipment associated milk ultra-filtration.
- Understand and troubleshoot product flows.
- Understand and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices, Standard Operating Procedures, Food Safety Plan and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point programs.
- Safety Protocol
- Stop any observed unsafe acts and obey facility safety rules and procedures.
- Correct or report any observed safety hazards.
- Support safety policies and programs.

Education Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience
Required:
- No experience required; in-house training provided.
Certification/Licensure
Required:
- Antibiotic Testing License: to be obtained within 90 days of hire; in-house training provided.
- Milk Sampling License: to be obtained within 90 days of hire; in-house training provided.
Skills Required:
- Demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy in work.
- Ability to follow written, verbal and diagrammatic instructions; complete simple checklists and complete required documentation.
- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with managers and colleagues.
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Basic computer operational skills; able to input and retrieve computerized information.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision, adapt to a changing environment quickly, and think independently.
- Demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively at all levels in a collaborative team environment.
- Decisions administered soundly and consistently with policies and in compliance with appropriate laws and regulations.
- Demonstrate functional and technical knowledge, ability to learn new skills quickly, and achieve a high level of accomplishment.
