What to Expect
As a Technical Supervisor you will have the critical task of managing the priorities and tasks of the engineering technician team. Your experience in fast‑paced production lines as well as strong technical background will make you an ideal candidate for this role. You have a passion for employee development and enjoy the process of training and developing the next generation of engineers.
You are very hands‑on, energetic, and have a capacity to think critically on many different complicated processes. Your proven ability to collaborate with employees, peers, and managers is one of your key strengths for success.
- Provide technical training to all technicians (8D, Kaizen, DMAIC, lean principles)
- Collaborate with the process and quality teams to support on‑going projects
- Work with shift managers and other production supervisors daily to create priorities
- Work with cross‑functional teams including process engineering, equipment engineering and maintenance teams
- Work with the training coordinators ensuring manufacturing Instructions, versatility matrices and other technical documentation are current
- Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Focus:
Responsibilities include ensuring team safety training, documenting EHS incidents, proactively identifying workplace hazards, and empowering teams towards continuous operational improvements - Reports OEE (cycle time/availability/performance) and required headcount for each area
- Bachelor's Degree in Science or Engineering or equivalent experience
- 5+ years' experience working in a production engineering role
- 3+ years managing teams of people in a production environment
- Must have experience managing direct reports in a production environment
- Knowledge of 5S, lean manufacturing and 6‑Sigma principles
- Communicate clearly using excellent written and verbal skills
- Proficient with MS office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project)
