Responsibilities similar to Operator I but with increased autonomy and supervisory duties over less experienced operators.
- Operator III: Senior level (Group III or IV). Independently performs operational tasks common to the activated‑sludge facility and off‑site pumping stations. Responsible for diagnosing and correcting plant operational and mechanical problems, directing other operators, managing safety training, maintaining regulatory reports, and reviewing biological processes for process improvements.
