Our client, a worldwide Agri-Food ingredient manufacturer, wants to expand their corporate team by adding a new Maintenance Technician to their Iowa location. Must be able to travel regionally (~25%-50%) for overnight stays and maintain valid travel documents such as a driver’s license.
SummaryElectrical/Mechanical troubleshooting of primary production plant and supply facilities including equipment troubleshooting and general maintenance to equipment. Ability to support company’s quality standards through installation, upgrade, and maintenance.
Duties and Responsibilities- Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems, and using precision measuring and testing instruments.
- Fabricates needed repair parts and other items by using maintenance shop machinery and equipment.
- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, electrical code specifications and schematics in order to effectively troubleshoot, maintain and repair equipment.
- Diagnose, locate the cause of, and repair malfunctioning systems and components using test equipment.
- Ensures proper completion of preventive maintenance requirements.
- Assists to develop and improve current preventive maintenance instructions and practices.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with all directives, procedures, rules, and regulations related to personal safety, manufacturing practices and protection of the products.
- Properly completes maintenance records as required to document the maintenance process. These include, but are not limited to:
Work Orders, Hot Work Permits, Confined Space Entry Permits, Clean Tags, High Care Intervention forms, Parts order Log, and Inventory use sheets. - Uses computerized records to document maintenance activities.
- Assists in maintaining adequate spare equipment, parts, and supply inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing requests for needed equipment and identifying and up-channeling shortages.
- Required to be on call on a rotating basis for maintenance coverage of operational hours outside of normally assigned work hours.
- Travels to supply sites as needed to perform maintenance, training, and troubleshooting of collection systems.
- Must be able to travel regionally (~25%-50%) for overnight stays and maintain valid travel documents such as a driver’s license
- Strong troubleshooting/diagnostic work
- Strong understanding of pumps/pneumatics
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED), AND
- Minimum two to three years related experience, OR
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong electrical/mechanical aptitude
- Manufacturing environment experience with liquid products preferred.
- Ability to manage time effectively, work independently and display solid follow up techniques.
- Exceptional problem solving & organizational skills; works proactively, able to multi-task.
- Proficient computer skills.
