Summary of Position
Maintenance Mechanic 1st shift Day shift
Perform all maintenance duties (i.e. PM’s, repair, enhancements, etc.) necessary for the efficient operation of all braider equipment within the Red Oak facility.
Essential Functions- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical & pneumatic systems.
- Ability to communicate at all levels within the plant.
- Use the maintenance work order system as prescribed by department Mgr.
- Update & advise department Mgr. and maintenance lead of machine & procedural issues.
- Complete assigned machine PMs within the allotted time.
- Work autonomously and in small groups to complete assignments.
- Comply with all safety regulations set by OSHA and Parker.
- Ability to be redirected by your C.O.C. as work priorities change without loss of focus and negative attitudinal impact.
- Work safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures, and in a manner that eliminates unreasonable risk to health and the environment. Notify management of unsafe conditions or practices, unlawful activities and activities which present unreasonable health and/or environmental risk. Report all safety and/or environmental incidents to management immediately.
- Prevent excess waste of product and/or components by operating the equipment in an efficient manner.
- Create and maintain project schedules.
- Work with groups in initiating and implementation of programs such as Lean Manufacturing and 5S.
- Other duties may be assigned later.
- Education required/ preferred:
High School diploma or GED / Minimum of two years technical trade school or equivalent experience. - Experience:
Industrial experience in a similar industry preferred.
- Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Mechanical experience / proven aptitude.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills.
- Safety first mindset.
- Basic computer skills – Microsoft Office package.
- Ability to lift to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Detail oriented.
- Assessment:
Employee must pass Pre-employment screening.
- Report directly to the Plant Manufacturing Engineering & Maintenance Manager.
- Work within the Maintenance and closely with other departments within the plant to resolve issues with the production equipment or facilities.
- Required PPE:
- Safety glasses.
- Steel toed shoes.
- Ear protection.
- Standing is required for extended periods of time.
- Carrying, bending, reaching, lifting, pushing, and pulling are done on a frequent basis.
- Climbing, stooping, and grasping are performed on an occasional basis.
- Requires high degree of manual dexterity, which could be performed under restrictive conditions.
- Requires flexible hours and short notice for overtime.
- Must be able to work in an environment with exposure to welding arcs, welding gases, steam, high voltage, inclement weather, heights, high water pressure, high noise levels, skin exposure to oils, grease and cutting fluids, exposure to fumes, confined spaces, and unguarded machinery for troubleshooting.
