Laser Operator Technician

PRIMARY PURPOSE

The Laser Technician will apply various machining technologies and skills to ensure quality & timely completion of work orders. Grip-Tite will train the right people with sound virtues regardless of prior machining / welding experience.

• Operates various Lasers used to produce Grip-Tite parts and products.
• Will operate a forklift as needed and be trained in other areas when lasers are not running.
• Maintains equipment and work areas. Keeps area clean and free of safety hazards.
• Must be able to fill out required paperwork completely and accurately.
• Must have a positive attitude and ensure and hold oneself accountable to work as one team to ensure Grip-Tite's overall success.

• Manufacturing/Industrial environment exposure preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent or at least 1-year of experience running lasers or like equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety procedures, SOPs, and other instruction manuals.
• Take the initiative to keep all areas clean and safe.
• Follow applicable housekeeping and safety procedures.
• Ability to lift objects weighing up to 75 pounds each, with assistance if needed, at heights from floor level to 4 feet high. Lifting 55 lbs. on a regular basis is required.
• Provides assistance to others in moving heavier or bulky objects.
• Must wear personal protective equipment - ear plugs, steel toe shoes and protective glasses.
• Must possess a valid driver's license that is in good standing to be able to operate a forklift.
• Maintains a high level of accuracy in all aspects of work assignments.

• High School Diploma

• This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching all day with the ability to be mobile throughout required work areas. The employee may frequently lift and/or move items up to 75 lbs.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be expected to work inside a manufacturing environment with regular exposure to changing temperatures (hot, cold, humid), moving mechanical parts, dust, fumes, chemicals, and loud noises. The noise level in the work environment can be loud; vibration levels are moderate.

• Competitive Hourly Pay - $20.00-$24/hour, based on experience and shift.
• Overtime may be required.
